Network of Independent Surgeons

Once you've decided that a cosmetic surgery procedure is in your future, choosing a plastic surgeon to perform it is the next important step. For many people, that can be a daunting task, but our nationwide network of independent board-certified surgeons helps take a lot of the mystery out of the process, enabling you to proceed with confidence.

We've done our homework and know that the independent surgeons in our network are among the best in the nation. They have all passed through our extensive screening process.

We make sure that all of the surgeons in our network are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), the only member board of the American Board of Medical Specialties that certifies for plastic surgery in the United States. ABPS certification means our network of independent surgeons make the commitment to spend additional time undergoing additional training to become experts in plastic surgery and that they continue to add to their skills on an ongoing basis. NewImage also maintains a limited number of network surgeons who specialize in craniofacial surgery, a subspecialty of plastic surgery that deals with the skull, face, and jaws.

Board certification is important for several reasons. It is voluntary, which demonstrates the physician's commitment to improving his or her own performance and contribution to the profession. Board certification goes above and beyond licensure, which is administered by the state where the physician practices and is not specialty specific. While any state-licensed doctor can claim to be a plastic surgeon, the independent board-certified surgeons in our network have the training, experience, and national professional recognition that you expect when it comes to your own personal medical care.

Most of the independent surgeons in our network are also members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the largest plastic surgery specialty organization in the world. ASPS requires its members to be of high moral and ethical standing, to be certified by ABPS, to conform to the ASPS Code of Ethics, and to be actively engaged in the practice of plastic and reconstructive surgery. These requirements make the surgeons in our network uniquely qualified to perform your plastic surgery procedure.

NewImage has its own stringent practitioner standards that all the independent surgeons in our network must meet or surpass. We conduct a background check on all potential new practitioners that includes confirming that they have a medical license and that they are certified by ABPS. We also make sure that the state medical board where they practice has not issued any sanctions, suspensions, revocations, or disciplinary actions against them. Once a member of our network, individual surgeons are reviewed on a monthly basis.

At NewImage, we also make sure that you sit down with your surgeon for a one-on-one consultation before making a commitment to surgery. This is your opportunity to get to know each other, for you to let him or her know what kinds of changes you're looking for, and for the surgeon to offer feedback based on years of surgical experience. It's the best way to make sure you're comfortable with the surgeon and that your plastic surgery experience will be a successful one.

For all these reasons, we believe the independent surgeons in our network are among the best in the field of plastic surgery. Take the first step in your plastic surgery journey by contacting us today to arrange a consultation with a board-certified surgeon in our network.
