Dr. Roger C. Mixter, a graduate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, is board certified in plastic surgery, and has practiced cosmetic surgery in Wisconsin for more than 20 years. He completed residencies in both general surgery and plastic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, and advanced training in facial reconstruction at the Australian Craniofacial Unit in South Australia. Dr. Mixter is also board-certified in surgery and is a member of both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Academically, Dr. Mixter serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin and Marquette University. He is also an examiner for the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Mixter is the author of more than 50 medical articles and book chapters.
In his practice in Milwaukee, Dr. Mixter focuses on cosmetic surgery including: face lifts, eye lifts, breast augmentation and reduction, abdominoplasty, liposuction, lip augmentation, and many other innovative surgical and laser procedures. Dr. Mixter performs many breast reconstructive surgeries each year and has sponsored numerous Breast Cancer Awareness programs.
Dr. Mixter has received advanced training in laser surgery to the skin and is medical director of Laser Centers of Wisconsin, a group of laser centers that specializes in cosmetic laser surgery procedures. At Laser Centers of Wisconsin, Dr. Mixter trains many plastic surgery residents in the use of lasers in cosmetic skin procedures.
In addition to his work in cosmetic surgery, Dr. Mixter established the Foundation for the Advancement of Cranio Facial Education (FACE), which works to help people with craniofacial deformities in the United States and abroad either directly or through the training of healthcare workers. The foundation is working to help treat children with cleft lip and palate in Mexico. Dr. Mixter serves as director of FACE.
Dr Mixter is also medical director of a community volunteer program called Lose the Tattoos - Wisconsin Tattoo Removal Program. The program removes gang-related tattoos from "young people who want to leave the gang in exchange for community service and job counseling.”
